Traditional Law & Lore (Compliance) Policy

Company's commitment to conduct it's business activities with respect and aligned to our lore, lawfully and in a manner that is consistent with its compliance obligations.

The term ‘lore’ refers to the protocols, customs and stories learned from the Dreamtime. Lore is passed on through the generations through songs, stories and dance and it governs all aspects of traditional life.

The Lore and Law Policy establishes the overarching principles and commitment to action for Company Governance with respect to achieving compliance by:

  • Identifying a clear compliance framework within to operate;
  • Promoting a consistent, rigorous and comprehensive approach to compliance;
  • Developing and maintaining practices that facilitate and monitor compliance;
  • Seeking to ensure standards of good corporate governance, ethics and community expectations; and
  • Engendering a culture of compliance where every person accepts personal responsibility for compliance and acts ethically and with integrity.

This policy applies to all personnel, community and industry partners (our people).

Our legal and regulatory compliance obligations include:

        Lore

  • Governing rule book
  • Governing Body, directed through certified Elders and certified traditional owner people
  • Protocols procedures and system of rule governing Traditional affairs

Legal obligations, including;

  • Legislative and regulatory policies and codes
  • Contractual;
  • Permits, licences and other forms of authorisation;
  • Common law;
  • Equitable obligations; and
    • Relevant industry codes and compulsory standards;

Adequate resources, policies, procedures and guidelines support lore, legal and regulatory compliance obligations and records and regularly review performance indicators to fulfil and maintain commitment.
